Rana was born
on September 16, 1970 in Freetown - Sierra Leone / West
Africa. Her father's name is Nazeeh (who passed away at the young age of 44) and her
mother's name is Faduit. She received her elementary education in the Lebanese School in
Freetown then joined the National Evangelical Institute in Sidon - Lebanon where she
obtained her high school degree in 1985. After graduation she enrolled at what was then
called The Beirut University College, BUC (currently, The Lebanese American University,
LAU) majoring in Business Administration. In 1987 she met Adnan Basma and quit
the university to join him in the biggest school of life, marriage. She has
three children, Adib (born in 1989), Tina (born in 1991) and Jad
(born on Valentine's Day 2001). Continuing her education, she joined the
North American Correspondence School (NACS) and obtained a Diploma in Travel and Tourism
and another in travel Child Day Care. Between 1991 and 1992, she worked as an assistant to
a group of researchers at UNICEF where she helped compile some patients' information in
Health Care Centers in Northern Jordan. After coming to Oman, she worked at the Day Care
Center of Sultan Qaboos University between 1997-1998.
In 1998 she accepted a job as the Dean's office coordinator in the College of Science at Sultan Qaboos University. She resigned in 1999 and moved
to Sharjah, UAE. |
